DMCA Policy
Pocket Museum respects creators and collectors. This policy explains how copyright owners can report material and how affected users can respond.
Effective date: July 24, 2026
1. Respect for copyright
Pocket Museum expects users to upload only content they own or are authorized to use. In accordance with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), we respond to properly completed notices of alleged copyright infringement and may remove or restrict access to identified material.
This process is for copyright claims. Privacy questions should follow our Privacy Policy, and other policy concerns should identify the specific issue in a message to us.
2. Copyright infringement notice
If you believe material available through Pocket Museum infringes your copyright, send a written notice containing all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of a person authorized to act for the copyright owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if one notice covers multiple works.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information for us to locate it, such as an exact public profile, exhibit, reference-entry, or image URL and relevant screenshots.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Email the notice to privacy@pocketmuseum.app with the subject DMCA Copyright Notice. We may request additional information needed to evaluate or process the notice.
3. What happens after a notice
We will review notices for completeness and may forward the notice, including the claimant's contact information, to the user who provided the material. When appropriate, we may remove or disable access to the material and notify the affected user. Removing material does not decide ownership or liability.
Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a DMCA notice may create liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Consider whether fair use, license terms, public-domain status, or another legal exception applies before submitting a notice.
4. Counter-notification
If your material was removed or restricted because of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States federal district court under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), and that you will accept service of process from the original claimant or the claimant's agent.
Email the counter-notification to privacy@pocketmuseum.app with the subject DMCA Counter-Notification.
5. Restoration process
We may provide a valid counter-notification to the original claimant. Unless the claimant informs us that they filed a court action seeking to restrain the disputed use, we may restore the material after the waiting period required by the DMCA, generally 10 to 14 business days after forwarding the counter-notification.
6. Repeat infringement
In appropriate circumstances, Pocket Museum may terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. We may also restrict access for a single serious infringement or other conduct that violates our Terms & Conditions.
7. Contact
Copyright notices and counter-notifications must use the instructions above. Email privacy@pocketmuseum.app for questions about this process.
